I mean, wtf is wrong with Microsoft’s marketing group? Even CNBC is bashing this. I watch this and want to punch myself. And everyone else. And a cat.
The jump cuts, rack focus shaky cam and ham handed writing just don’t work. They don’t work at all. How is it that Apple seems to be doing everything right in this realm and MS is just fail after fail.
It really is an epic turn of events. It’s long been thought that MS won the OS war through marketing. Now, they are losing it there. Windows 7 is a pretty decent revision in the OS and here we have quite possibly the worst pseudo viral video I have ever seen.

In the whole “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” thing, this ad is clearly a PC.

This video is pathetic. With all of their money and brains, this is the best MS can come up with? Gah.
But then, who buys their computers based on crappy TV commercials anyway? You are either a Mac person or a PC person and a commercial is not going to make you switch.

Agree with the commercial being crap, but then again will people buy less PC’s with MS on it. The majority of persons don’t even understand/ know the difference between an Apple and a PC, besides the fact that it looks different.

Hi Chad,
I don’t think Microsoft is really to blame in what happened with this video. Nonetheless, it definitely had a broad reach but really what matters is the set of features and improvements that Windows 7 brings and that’s what we should be talking about.
Were you a Vista user? Which features have you seen improved the most with this revision of the OS?

Well it did turn out to be viral. Maybe that’s their genius tactic. Make something that is so pathetically wrong and boring when it’s supposed to be good that everyone talks about it and knows that Windows 7 is launching.

I have been a PC user for almost 25 years.. The MAC overall is a much nicer platform and getting hit with pesty viruses is almost nill. Seriously contemplating jumping ship on MS.
